"Life is a treasure worth exploring and is a gold mine, but not for those that are not willing to dig and reach their goals." - Anonymous primary school teacher. |

Education
& Graduations
Love Shack has been providing opportunities for children to go to school
since 2004. We are now seeing the fruits of our student’s labours.
Our secondary school leavers have gone on to study engineering,
computers, accounting, hairdressing, teaching and medicine. Of those coming
through this year we have a prospective pilot, architect and nurse but to
mention a few.
Love Shack provides career counselling to our students to encourage them
to explore their full potential and aptitude. Not everyone is suited to
University which is why we also support students wishing to pursue vocational
training. Sadly,
in some parts of Kenyan society there is still stigma towards children who have
a learning disability. Love shack
recognises the potential in all children, and we support a number of students
that would have of otherwise been excluded because of their disability. All we ask of any of our students is that they do the best they can. Unemployment in Kenya is rife and the average Kenyan earns less than €1 a day. It is not our intention to encourage students to be materialistic. All we hope is that one day the will have the same access to healthcare, housing, education and employment as we do. |
